There was a very special occasion at 9th Aylesbury Scouts yesterday evening. Kyra McParland the District Youth Commissioner for Aylesbury District presented the Chief Scout’s Commendation for Meritorious Conduct to Harry Englefield. Harry has muscular dystrophy. He has been dragon boating, sailing, involved in hikes, spent 5 night away camping in the Isle of Wight. Leigh, one of the Scouts said, “Harry is committed to doing all of the activities. He is fun to be with and he has a will do attitude. Harry will be at Windsor this year and hopes to meet Bear Grylls.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
