Scouts (10½ - 14 years of age)

Scouts are young people aged between 10½ and 14 years old who like making friends and getting involved in new activities.

Scouts don’t spend much of their time in uniform as for much of the time they’re too busy getting stuck into some new activity to worry about whether they’re wearing their woggle the right way up!

Although there are plenty of outdoor activities available, including night hikes, summer camps and expeditions, this is just a small part of what Scouting is about.

Whether you’re cooking your dinner over a fire, shooting the breeze in a dinghy, or just having a good time with your mates, there’s always a new adventure ahead of you!

Scouts normally meet once a week for a couple of hours together with longer activities at the weekends or during holidays. During the meeting they’ll be catching up with friends, learning new skills and exploring issues relevant to you. And once you’re in, you have the change to have your say about what you’d like your troop to do.
