Explorer Scouts (14 - 18 years of age)
Any one aged between 14 and 18 can become an Explorer Scout and there are plenty of different ways that you can be involved.
- In an Explorer Scout Unit that specializes in one activity, like climbing, drama or water sports
- In a Young Leader’s Unit and get the chance to help lead activities for younger children in Beavers, Cubs or Scouts
- In a Unit that does a bit of everything
Explorer Scouts normally meet once a week for a couple of hours although there maybe some extra activities in which you can also get involved, such as adventurous activities, local conservations projects, awards schemes (both Scout Awards and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award), international issues, camps, hikes and expeditions to name but a few.
